Doris Coulic January 14, 1925 - February 12, 2014

COULIC, Doris (nee Kowalchuk)
Passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Regina General Hospital peacefully in her sleep at the age of 89. Doris was predeceased by her parents Anna and John Kowalchuk; her husband Walter Coulic; siblings, Katie, Alex, Mike, Paul, and Mary. Doris is survived by her son Mike & Lisa Coulic; daughter Sylvia & Dean Bell; son Joe & Darlene Coulic; daughter Elaine & Jerry Pruden. Grandchildren, Clint & Bryce Bell, Allison, Amanda & Andy Coulic, David (Julie) Pruden, Jody (Clarrisa) Pruden; great grandchildren Avery, Jessica, Addison & Jared Pruden; and by her siblings, Helen, Bill, Wilma, Peter, Nick, Steve, Paraska (Polly), and Nettelie (Natalie). Doris was born January 14, 1925 on the family farm in Hafford, SK, as were all her siblings. Through Doris' working years; she was employed at Maidstone Hospital in the laundry department as well as running the Wally's Inn Restaurant in Hafford, SK. Doris retired from Stensrud Lodge in 1989 as Laundry Supervisor. Doris took great pride in her grandchildren and loved to play many board and dice games with both Clint and Bryce. One of Doris' many passions was sitting by the fire; as well as her love for baking; her love of picking wild mushrooms, Saskatoon berries, and all kinds of flowers, looking at butterflies, doing puzzle books, playing scrabble, and she enjoyed fishing, gardening, knitting, and bingo. Doris was also known to make the best perogies in the land, which were enjoyed by many. Baba spent her retirement years with her two grandchildren Clint and Bryce in Regina and resided in Regina until her passing. We will miss you Mom/Baba. You are forever in our hearts and memories. You taught us to live, love and laugh. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation. The Funeral Service was held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Park Funeral Chapel with Very Rev. Fr. Taras Makowsky officiating.
